Growing Together Forever

This is a very personal piece I painted about my relationship with my wife. We’ve been together for over 40 years, growing side by side the entire way. We met very young and built our life together, standing as an example of a loving, lasting relationship.
I chose tulips as the metaphor because they are a single-stem plant — it’s rare to find two intertwined, growing together as one. Rising above a full field of tulips, two blossoms share a single twisted stem at the painting’s center, just as rare and remarkable as the love between my wife and me.
