My latest book, Built on Purpose: How Intentional Firms Inspire, Lead, and Endure, was published in early October. I wrote it over the fall of 2025 and spring of 2026.

The book was a labor of love. My purpose in writing it was to create a resource for young entrepreneurs, existing business owners, and employees who want more from their firms, one they can use to build a company with clarity of purpose and a great culture around that purpose.

While I have tremendous experience building purpose-driven firms, I wanted the book to include other voices. I researched more than 100 companies in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry and chose several to interview. Sixteen of those firms, along with anecdotes from my former firm, LGA Architecture, are featured in the book. These interviewed firms became my Brain Trust, representing a wide geographic area across the United States and South America.
Although the book speaks specifically to the AEC industry, its principles apply to all professional service firms and to most businesses. Purpose-driven firms have higher employee engagement, stronger customer retention, and outpace their non-purpose-driven peers in profitability.

I encourage you to read the book, use it as a resource, explore the reference books, and build a firm that exists to accomplish something bigger than just making money.
